Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
We welcome dancers ages 4–18. Little ones start with rhythm, movement, and fun fundamentals, while older students develop more technical skills and can pursue competition if they choose.
Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes — shorts, leggings, and a t-shirt work perfectly. No special gear is needed to get started.
All beginners start in soft shoes — lightweight, flexible leather shoes similar to a ballet flat. Hold off on buying anything until after your first class or two. When the time comes, we'll guide you on what to get and where to find them.
That is entirely up to you and your dancer. No one will ever be pressured to compete. Irish dance can be a wonderful hobby, a form of fitness, a cultural connection, or a competitive pursuit — and all of those are equally valid here.
